This year FutureCup was the third event that I served in as an organizer, so I can safely compare the previous years. We wanted to invite those European club teams that have good youth development programs. Seventh year returner, Fulham FC is one of our clubs partners among many other teams that came back this year too, such as Sturm Graz, AC Sparta Praha and FCZ Brno from the Czech Republic and Bate Borisov who have been to the UEFA Champions League and Eurpa League in previous years.
Unfortunately there were a few teams who cancelled their participation like Partizan Belgrade from Serbia or Wisla Krakow from Poland. This put a lot of stress on our organization to replace them with such level teams. At the end, we hosted 18 teams from Hungary and Europe in the 2004 age-group and made the highest level of international tournament in Hungary. Our organization faced other challanges as well, such as the dietary needs of different cultures. One example is when the Belorussian team requested and the British team salad and granola bars. We also faced many more injuries than in previous years. Our first aid team did a really outstanding job!
It was also nice to see some professional footballers coming to see the games, such as Daniel Bode, Adam Nagy and Christian Ramirez from FTC. We also would like to thank Attila Dragoner for his help during the awards ceremony!
